MEOW, Journalsim beat report, fashion trends bitches.

Pre-fall lines launched by Chanel and Valentino feature shines and metallic, 50's and 60's fit collars and dresses, interesting necklines, and a ton of lace.
Other designers such as Marc Jacobs are flooding the runways with bold reds, polka dots and vintage-looking solid floral. Returning trends include cinched waistlines, sheer fabrics, and simple clean cuts.

During fashion week designer Steve Madden released his fall shoe collection made up of booties, laces, platforms and wedges, all being diverse enough to go from day to night in a blink.

Holy Moly, Katy Perry!

Like it or not, Katy Perry is interesting. She is the kind of girl one would take the time to study, one celebrity I actually wanted to see as a young child. Expecting to find Katy in some type of Disney stardom program in a cute little dress much more modest than these(love the middle one!):

I did research her younger life, and in return found some interesting research that I was personally...shocked by. Katy Perry, the shockingly open-minded girl that America has welcomed into todays pop culture, was once Katy Hudson.

My first look on lookbook.nu!!! (and a how to on red, black and gold this winter!)

If you click on the picture it will take you to lookbook.nu where you can comment, hype, and show some love!
Black and gold came in over the summer, red and black have always been sleek, but this winter try a combination! Red and black can be a gorgeous contrast when done correctly, and just the thing to make your one accessory pop out. Just follow the "ingredients"

• This outfit calls for mostly black, enough to make the red really pop! Black tights, black heels and a black skirt make a nice canvas for your red.

• A bright red can be done, but make sure you don't use too playful of a red. You want to look sleek.

• If the red has a slight pattern (as shown in the picture above) you will get a less serious look, that makes you seem approachable and not too business-like.

• Top it off with some red lipstick and one piece of golf jewelry!

Street Style: Harrison Cyr

Meet Harrison. He gives short answers but is a kid of depth. I included Harrison in my fashion blog because I find him to be artistically ahead of his surroundings. Intriguing too!

What is your greatest weakness?
Probably, fear.

Where do you see yourself five years from now?
College. (I believe he is going for film directing!)

How would you define your city's fashion?
Diverse.

First three musical artists that pop into your mind:
Sufjan Stevens, The shins, The National

Favorite past time:
Skating. (But I happen to know that he enjoys watching odd    movies and eating popcorn.)

Deep thought:
After gesturing pulling deep thought out of his behind, Harrison said, "I think a lot about what's wrong with humanity and how we’re ignorant and what needs to change. It’s really fake ignorance."

What is black, white and red? A cheesy joke, and a trend I'm growing very fond of.

In addition to "Colorblocks are back in! Know how to wear them" I had to give an example of "black and white" colorblocks. Just had to.

    What is...
    • Black tights
    • Short sleeve sweater knit colorblock dress in black and white with a round neckline and relaxed fit
    • Hits about mid-thigh
    • Three buckle waist belt in black
    • Marc by Marc Jacobs black suede ankle-boots/peep-toe sheos
    • Fitted black wrist lace gloves
    • BRIGHT lipstick
You might try a pair of these or a pair of red flats for a twist.
So many ways to play it up!

    Beautfiul, Ecelectic. Realistic.

Now I lay me down to sleep..
There once was a princess, beautiful  and free, no home to hold her back, she worked with nature and what she had on her back.

    • Eclectic dress that hits mid-thigh
    • Thick sweater shawl with beautiful and bold fringe
    • Brown boots (relaxed fit)

Color Blocks Are Back In! Know how to wear them.

This Emanuel Ungaro Ruched Silk Chiffon Skirt is one of many new color block pieces. It's bold... So it's essential you know how to wear it confidently. I've made a playful display with many other trendy objects that I would use to play up this skirt confidently.

    • Cropped gloves add a nice warm touch that says, "I'm tough". However, in most indoor places, gloves are impractical.
    • The other article worn with color blocks should be the dullest color in the color block article, or a dark color that will not clash. With this skirt I chose a tank with frilly raw edge bows. (the frill draws attention from the skirt to the neckline, which is good when wearing such a bold skirt.)
    • Shoes! I chose to pair this outfit with a bold pair of Betsey Johnson platform sandals. Bold shoes give that extra hint of confidence that help you pull of this look, however, if you are not feeling quite that crazy, a simple pair of black rounded toe heels will do.
    • Accessories: A scent! I chose one of my favorite scent, you choose yours! And a purse. I chose a basic black Chanel bag simply for the heavy gold looking chain.
    Have fun! Make it personal.
